A Screaming Eagle: His Drawings, His Words

This is almost as remarkable as the men portrayed in the series. The selfless service of those men are the truly remarkable and commendable actions we should all be in awe of. My grandfather landed on the beaches on D-day, as did his two brothers. I would like to think that the actions of your father and his Band of Brothers allowed them to survive the day and helped to keep the three silver stars my great grandmother had on the window from turning gold. May peace and solace grace your family. Thank you for sharing this.
Your father was an incredible artist. Amazing detail in the drawing from the sticks of men jumping out of planes, the flak in the air, the crashed planes in hedgerows, and German troops attacking from below. That moment was definitely seared in his brain forever. Hope you share more of these.
Tim, that's a hell of a good read and I'm sure your dad would be proud to know that you're still sharing the legacy of Easy Company. My grandfather was at Utah beach but never really talked about it and I was too young to ask appropriate questions before he passed. I'm proud of him and your dad for what they did. Thank you so much for sharing this.
I love that last line. 'Nobody in that backyard had any idea what that little boy was going to do.' Thank you for telling us a bit about your father. Sounds like he was a real one.
To this day, we still proudly wear the D-Day and Bastogne unit citations, and others, that they earned on each of our uniforms. It was truly an honor... Quite a group of men, with a special legacy left for all of us to share. Thanks for sharing all of this.
I love this. Some work is meant to be multi-generational, and I imagine your dad is watching you spread his stories with pride.
Love these posts about your dad! The last one about fassbender was awesome. Your dad was an amazing artist.
I have some of his drawings... I won them in an auction and gifted them to my daughter as she is a huge fan on the show. I always felt honored just knowing someone associated with him.
Lt. Winters lived near where I live now and I have paid my respects to him at his grave. Much respect to your dad and to all of these brave men.
Thank you for sharing your experience and your family's legacy with all of us. From one Army family to another.
Thank you so much for sharing, we all owe so much to him and all the soldiers who answered the call during WW2. Who knew that the 8 year old in this picture would go on to become a real life hero.
Thank you for the post and comments. I actually watched band of brothers for the first time a few weeks ago. I was crying by the end. Shout out to your dad, and the rest of easy company. I thank them for their service.
Legit OldSchoolCool personified right here! Respect for your dad and all our WWII vets for saving the world!
The greatest generation. Tell your father thank you for saving the world.
Easy Company have been lifelong heroes of mine. Wish I could tell your dad thank you.
Seeing Easy Company helped us feel if they could be as brave as they were, and do what they did, we could try to be brave through a different kind of nightmare too... Thank you for your father's service.
As a mother of 2 sons of serving age, Band of Brothers was so horrifying, yet moving. Your dad was so brave
I know I am late to the party, but this is the coolest post I've ever seen on this sub. Your Dad is a hero.
A life well lived no doubt. Many thanks to your Dad. We can only imagine what he saw and the fears he overcame. Incredible share.
I saw your post the other day of the pic of your father... I just scrolled through your posts. Very very interesting stuff
Hi Tim, This was a wildly entertaining read. Have you thought about creating a website about your dad? Or perhaps writing out some more of your stories?
Your father was part of something truly special. Again, thank you for sharing.
Hello again, Tim. I've seen other pictures that you've posted of your father... Thank you for posting this.
Your dad made a difference. Our world's pivot upon the actions made by few.
That is amazing photo, story and most of all, the Man.
What a wonderful legacy to your father. Well done.

Here for the journey friend!
Before the book came out, people kept asking the same question. All 46 drawings are in the book.
I do pencil drawings myself. Is there any way for us to see your dad's drawings?
Are his drawings available for viewing anywhere?
Anywhere we can view the drawings?
Can you share his drawings?
I would love to see his artwork
Amazing. How can we see the drawings??
Are the illustrations online somewhere?
Are his drawings shared Anywhere? They should probably be in a museum!
Would love to see a drawing of his.
If it isn't, this should be in a military history museum.
